Collection: Hannah Heltzel
Hannah Heltzel is a contemporary artist whose colorful, expressive paintings are inspired by her upbringing on her family’s farm in Georgia. While working on her family’s farm, she developed grit and an early appreciation for nature, adventure, freedom, and the beauty of the rural life. Those experiences continue to influence her work, connecting her paintings to a deep sense of place and memory.
Working primarily in acrylic, Hannah uses bold color, expressive brushwork, and simplified forms to create contemporary interpretations of rural life and the American West. Her recent work increasingly centers on cowgirls—figures that embody strength, independence, freedom, and adventure. For Hannah, the cowgirl represents more than a Western icon; she is a celebration of a spirit that is confident, strong, and deeply connected to the land.
Hannah’s paintings combine the nostalgia of her rural upbringing with a fresh, fun, and contemporary aesthetic. Drawing from memories of farm life while embracing the energy and freedom of the West, she creates work that feels both familiar and imaginative.
Hannah is based in Atlanta, Georgia where she has exhibited her work. She recently made her debut in the west at the Western Design Conference in Bozeman, Montana. She is represented by LeeAnn Ramey Art in Bozeman.
