The Montana Elevator Company was a wheat farmer cooperative founded in Central Montana in 1904. Many of these grain elevators still stand sentinel over their small communities as historic landmarks of the state's early agricultural boom. This one is on the edge of the small town of Grass Range near the artist's ranch.
